‘Scream Queens’ is set to debut its second season on Fox sometime in the fall this year. Cast members teased a darker edition after the characters are moved from the Wallace University and into a hospital setting.

According to E! Online, several cast members teased new details for the horror-comedy television series’ second season during Fox’s Upfront Party in New York City. Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Dean Cathy Munsch, said that “darker” times loom ahead for the show’s various characters. She said, "It's in a hospital, [there's] a lot of darkness in hospitals—dark hallways, scary rooms, sharp objects, a lot of blood, disinfectants."

Main actress Emma Roberts added, "We're adding some incredible new cast members that you'll find out about soon. It's going to be fun, it's going to be wild… We haven't even read a script yet though, so we actually don't know what's going to happen."

Roberts will reprise her role as Chanel Oberlin, the narcissistic president of sorority Kappa Kappa Tau and leader of The Chanels who was incriminated for the murders at Wallace University. Chanel is later sentenced to life at the Palmer Mental Institute and is eventually released to pursue a career in medicine. The second season will take place in a brand new location where more murders will once again take place.

According to another article on The Inquisitr, the new events will find Dean Munsch purchasing and operating a mental hospital following her departure from university and penning a bestselling book. She will attempt to reinvigorate the establishment famous for accepting dead-end asylum cases. Meanwhile, the sorority girls of KKT have pursued careers in the medical field and will attempt to settle into their new lives.

Lea Michele’s character Hester Ulrich, who was unmasked as one of the Red Devil killers, will also be returning for season 2. Michele expressed her excitement for the return saying, "I don't know how I can get any darker than I did in season one but hey, whatever Ryan Murhpy wants me to do I am totally down with… I'm really excited about it… I get to be even crazier this year than I was last year, if you can believe it!"

‘Scream Queens’ garnered several accolades and nominations since its premiere last September 2015. It won an award for Most Exciting New Series at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. It also earned a People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy as well as separate nominations for Roberts and Michele for Favorite Actress in New TV Series.
