“Samurai 8” Chapter 10 will continue working on the bond between Maru and Ann, while simultaneously setting up an impending collision now that Ata is near the protagonists’ location. But the previous release also provided a name that may foreshadow the unfolding events in the future.

The name is Hachikaku. Now, it isn’t clear what this name suggests or who it’s referring to. The most obvious, of course, is Hachimaru given that Ata has been portrayed to be coming after the frail protagonist. “Samurai 8” Chapter 10 will undoubtedly provide more information on this front.

But for now, speculating is all we can do. Another character that the name might be referring to is Maru’s dad since audiences still don’t know what the guy’s name is. If so, “Samurai 8” Chapter 10 may provide some information about Maru’s past and how the locker ball chose him as the bearer of his new body.

Samurai 8 Chapter 10 could provide details about Maru’s background

It might also provide more details about Maru’s bloodline, as well as the past of his father. Could it be that his dad is a samurai in his previous life and has given up being a warrior to care for his sickly son? It is a possibility, although that remains speculation for now. Another revelation that “Samurai 8” Chapter 10 might hint is the meaning of the name itself.

Reddit user Nedsama provided a fun fact about the name on this thread. Maru stands for “circle,” and kaku means “square.” Since the overarching plot of the story mentions the Pandora’s Box that is essential in halting the galaxy’s decay, the name could be a reference to this very artifact. “Samurai 8” Chapter 10 could also provide more hint that Hachimaru may be the reincarnation of the legendary Fudo Myo-o as suggested by user Soncikuro.

Samurai 8 Chapter 10 may reveal what Hachikaku means

Both of these hints hold weight since the image of Fudo Myo-o is indeed associated with the aforementioned shapes; a circle and a square. Whatever this name suggests, it’s clear that author Masashi Kishimoto wants his audiences to pay attention to the name as it’s been given with heavy emphasis. As for the release date of “Samurai 8” Chapter 10, it’s scheduled to come out on July 12.
