Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are currently filming “Outlander” season 5, and while this is a busy time for both actors, it seems that the former still found some time to open a business. Their drama is not coming until next year so while they are just filming and no promotion is going on yet, the actor took advantage of his spare time to work on his beverage business venture.
Sam Heughan launches new whiskey brand
It was revealed that Heughan set up his own whiskey brand and it is ready to roll out in the market. On Aug. 18, the actor introduced his brand called Sassenach, a term that is being used in the “Outlander” series. Jamie Fraser calls his wife Claire, and with that, it appears that the English word is a pet name for couples.
Sam Heughan announced that his Sassenach is already distilling in Scotland and he invited people to drop by and taste his brew. In his other social media post, he said that he excited to share his new brand of spirits to everyone.
"Thinking about the journey that led me here and the road still to be discovered,” he wrote. “Can't wait for you to experience what we are creating with @sassenachspirits! Feel so grateful to have you all along for the ride."
Balfe talks about the happenings on the set of “Outlander” season 5
Meanwhile, as Sam Heughan spends time promoting his new venture, his “Outlander” co-star Caitriona Balfe sat down for an interview and revealed bits and pieces about what is to come in the fifth installment of their drama. There still months before the series returns and here are some of the things that the actress shared as spoilers.
Firstly, Balfe said that they have a new castmate and he is a cat. With his addition, the actress said that they just had the “purrfect” problem on the set and this is because the pet named Adso appeared to be moody, but he is just so adorable.
Caitriona Balfe went on to say that the upcoming season will be awesome and they finally be on Fraser’s Ridge. "The season is really really good," Entertainment Tonight quoted her as saying. "Last season was really setting up the fact that the Frasers were in Fraser's Ridge and that they were starting to settle. This year is really about this family coming to terms with a lot of consequences of things that happened last season."
