Washington, D.C, Sept. 29, 2017 -- As the U.S. weathers one of the most active and severe hurricane seasons on record, U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) Leadership will head to Houston this weekend to offer assistance and solidarity as the city recovers and rebuilds in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. USCM President Mayor Mitch Landrieu (New Orleans, LA), Vice President Mayor Stephen Benjamin (Columbia, SC), Second Vice President Mayor Bryan Barnett (Rochester Hills, MI.), and CEO and Executive Director Tom Cochran will join Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner on Saturday, September 30th.

The mayors will meet with volunteers at recovery sites across the city and hold a group working session to discuss recovery efforts and resilience building. In Houston, mayors will convene city officials from Houston, New Orleans, among other experts for a working group roundtable while also meeting with the Houston Food Bank and volunteers throughout the city.
