Robert Pattinson Honored with President’s Award at Film Festival in the Czech Republic

Robert Pattinson was in the Czech Republic on July 7 to accept an award at the 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The Hollywood actor received the President’s Award for "outstanding personalities of world cinema."

The Daily Mail reported that the “Twilight” actor arrived in the country via a private jet. He looked so relaxed and very casual as he stepped out of the plane wearing a shirt topped with a checked jacket and tracksuit bottoms ensemble. In sharp contrast to his attire when he arrived in Karlovy Vary, the 32-year-old picked up his trophy during the closing ceremony of the said film festival looking suave in a classic tailored black suit.

The awardees were announced by the Czech award-giving body on June 27. Aside from Robert Pattinson, American filmmakers Barry Levinson and Tim Robbins were also named recipients of awards at the festival.

As part of the film fest, “Damsel” was screened a few days before the awards night. The 2018 comedy movie stars Pattinson and the Australian actress Mia Wasikowska as leads, and it was written and directed by David and Nathan Zellner, who also attended the event.

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is a nine-day event that is held annually. It accepts only motion pictures that have not been shown in any other international film competitions, so many rare movies are featured here every year. The list of this year’s winners was posted on KVIFF’s website.

Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson’s debonair appearance at the film festival comes just a few weeks after he was seen at a party with ex-girlfriend and “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart. They had also met at Lilly Rose-Depp's party at Chateau Marmont in LA back in June. At the party, the former couple was also photographed together and that was their very first public picture since breaking up in 2013.

The stars met on the set of the global blockbuster film series “Twilight” in 2008. Shortly after the film was released, they confirmed their dating status. Unfortunately, the pair called it quits when Kristen Stewarts cheated with “Snowhite and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders.

Since then, the exes have dated a few people. Pattinson was with FKA Twigs for the longest time and in fact, they got engaged late last year. But for some unknown reasons, they canceled the wedding.

Finally, despite their public relationships, fans of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are still hoping they would reconcile. However, people close to them think that the duo can only be together again as a couple if they will agree to do a movie together.
