“Rick and Morty” season 4 is still nowhere in sight so some fans are already frustrated with the apparent delay. More than a year already passed but it seems that series co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have no plans of releasing the fourth installment yet.
What’s more, the lack of new update makes the waiting even more painful for the show’s avid viewers so when one of the “Rick and Morty” season 4’s animators recently tweeted something about the show, everyone was ecstatic. Eric Bofa Nfon’s Twitter post last month excites the fans because finally, someone is talking about the progress with the fourth installment.
In his update, he simply wrote, “Casual meeting. First week back! Feels great #RaM4.”
Eric is an animator working under Bardel Entertainment which is based in Canada. He is one of the people assigned to do “Rick and Morty” season 4’s animation so depending on the progress of the animators, fans may see the series either sooner or later.
Likewise, Inverse pointed out that with the team back at work, we can all get an estimate as to when “Rick and Morty” season 4 would be released. Animation is a long process and it takes months for a single season to be completed thus when Eric Bofa Nfon revealed that they are working on the #RaM4, the countdown to the show’s premiere also begins.
The outlet also cited the writers of season 3 completed the story/script in September 2016 and was immediately sent to Bardel for the animation to start. After seven months, in April 2017, the third season debuted on Netflix. And now, that the works have been handed down to the animators’ team, then we could be looking for a release date of “Rick and Morty” season 4 between August and November 2019.
Meanwhile, “Rick and Morty” season 4 will now be shown on Channel 4 in the U.K. while viewers in the U.S. may still continue to watch it via Netflix. Seasons 1 to 4 will now be available on the said U.K. channel starting Feb. 15.
