‘Reign’ season 4’s episode 9, titled “Pulling Strings,” will feature Mary’s wedding to Darnley as well as her strengthened alliance with Queen Catherine de’ Medici.
The synopsis for “Pulling Strings” posted on TV Guide reads, “Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Darnley (Will Kemp) wed in a lavish affair, which proves to be a successful decision in regard to her political standing.
Meanwhile, James (Dan Jeannotte) makes an interesting discovery about Greer (Celina Sinden); and Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) frantically tries to salvage England's power.”
The upcoming episode is set to feature Mary’s grand wedding with Darnley as well as her strengthened political standing with the people. Photographs posted on Spoilers Guide shows Kane’s Mary and Kemp’s Darnley looking quite the powerful royal couple during their wedding day. The Queen of Scots is clothed head-to-toe in gold brocade while her groom looks dashing in his equally lavish matrimonial suit.
On the other hand, Elizabeth will have to hurdle some challenges in the upcoming episode. The Queen of England will be desperate to take back England’s power especially since her plans to interrupt Mary and Darnley’s union have resulted in shambles.
Mary’s renewed strong alliance with Queen Catherine de’ Medici will also be one of the other highlights of episode 9. Catherine is seen in the promotional photographs attending Mary and Darnley’s wedding ceremony.
In the promo, Catherine offers Mary some strong advice as the two women sit together in private. Catherine warns the young queen, “Protect your crown at all cost.” The promo also hints that Darnely will get himself in trouble to which Catherine tells Mary as they walk the village streets, “You just say the word. Darnely will be left in a dark cloud of shame.”
