Rockstar Games confirmed that the previously teased summer update for “Red Dead Online” is “Blood Money,” and it will be released next week. Guido Martelli, who was initially introduced as a minor character in “Red Dead Redemption 2,” will also play a huge role in dishing out new crimes and opportunities in “Red Dead Online: Blood Money.”
As the update’s title suggests, “Red Dead Online: Blood Money” involves a slew of crimes focused on Martelli’s goal of getting back the valuable items known as Capitale. “Originally devised as a unique system of exchange for more sensitive business dealings away from the watchful eyes of the taxman, it's since ended up in the hands of nearly every lowlife across the five states,” Rockstar said in a blog post.
The developer also emphasized that gunslingers will not need to turn in “upfront investment” to join. This means players will be able to acquire contracts in “Red Dead Online: Blood Money,” and it will not cost them anything.
The highlight of the “Red Dead Online: Blood Money” update are new jobs fittingly called Crimes. The activities involved vary from simpler holdups to higher-stakes robberies. Gunslingers will definitely get their hands dirty in the summer update as collecting Capitale would sometimes require them to complete missions that entail kidnapping and “brutal debt collections.”
Once players have proven their worth to Martelli by returning a number of Capitale, they will then gain access to Opportunities. These are part of a larger goal to prevent a Lemoyne senator from crippling the operations of Martelli’s mob boss, Angelo Bronte.
When completing Opportunities, players are advised to remain keen on their environments. Clues about their targets and how to complete their objectives may be available from listening to conversations of people around them. The first three Opportunities will be available as soon as “Red Dead Online: Blood Money” is live on Tuesday, July 13. Rockstar promised more Opportunities for later.
PC gamers have another thing to look forward to this summer. Part of the “Red Dead Online: Blood Money” update is the addition of DLSS support to Windows PC users with compatible Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards. It is promised to deliver improved frame rates and enhanced image sharpness.
