Fans eagerly waiting for the release of “Rambo 5” or “Rambo 5: Last Blood” recently got a major update. Sylvester Stallone’s character, John Rambo, will wield an all-new and much bigger weapon, named the “Heartstopper.”
Stallone shared the latest behind-the-scenes photo on his Instagram page featuring one of the new weapons his character will be using in “Rambo 5: Last Blood.” Screen Rant pointed out that the size of the Heartstopper knife shows that the final movie installment will stay true in the sense of designing Rambo’s weapons.
Earlier this month, Stallone also shared a photo of the smaller knife making an appearance in “Rambo 5: Last Blood.” The actor fittingly described the said weapon as a “small knife” while they were still “making the BIG one.” Stallone delivered his promise with the debut of the Heartstopper on his Instagram page.
Both knives for “Rambo 5: Last Blood” were designed by Dietmar Pohl, according to Stallone’s photo captions. Pohl is a well-known knifemaker and popular for authoring books about combat and tactical weapons.
The first “Rambo” movie was released in 1982, with the second and third following in 1985 and 1988. The fourth movie was released in 2008. “Rambo 5: Last Blood” is slated to be released over a decade later, in 2019.
Like in the other “Rambo” films, Stallone has also been very much involved in the writing of “Rambo 5: Last Blood.” While they have already started filming scenes, Stallone confirmed about a week ago that he is still making some changes in the movie’s screenplay “in between shots of operating an earth mover.”
Meanwhile, the main premise of “Rambo 5: Last Blood” has been set. Stallone’s titular character takes on a mission from a friend, Maria (Adrian Barraza), whose daughter, named Gabrielle (Yvette Monreal), will be kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel. The main villain, named Hugo Martinez, will be portrayed by Sergio Peris-Mencheta.
Before reprising his role as a Vietnam war veteran in “Rambo 5: Last Blood,” fans can catch Stallone returning in his other classic character, Rocky Balboa, on “Creed II.” The boxing-themed movie premieres on Nov. 21, 2018.
