Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just welcomed their first baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor last month, and there are rumors that the couple may have another child, but it may take a while. This is because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to prefer a small family only.
In a recent interview, Prince Harry reportedly refuted the reports that they want a big family and shared that they are actually planning for just one more baby after their son Archie. This means the royal couple just wants to have two kids and maintain a small family.
The candid discussion
The interview of the Duke of Sussex by conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall was published on Vogue for its September issue, and Meghan Markle reportedly edited the article as the magazine’s guest editor. Aside from talking about the issues on the economic development on a planet with finite natural resources, fightings, and violence, Prince Harry was asked about his family life, and he was open enough to share bits and pieces especially about having babies.
Talking about the chaos and state of the environment in the world today, Dr. Goodall said that it is terrifying for Prince Harry, who just had a baby. “I know,” the prince responded. “It does make it different. I think, weirdly because of the people that I’ve met and the places I’ve been fortunate enough to go, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature, I view it differently now, without question but I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children but not too many.”
Prince Harry then added that he only wants two children, and it is the maximum count that he has in mind. Probably, he discussed this with his wife Meghan Markle, and they agreed that this is the max number of kids they will have in the family.
Plans for adoption
In any case, there are reports that stated Prince Harry and Meghan are planning to adopt. It was said that the couple made the decision after visiting an orphanage in Africa. The adoption of a black child will also serve as a tribute to Princess Diana, who has a special connection in the country. Plus, it was said that this is also a tribute to Meghan’s mother Doria who is black and honor her heritage as well.
