Recent reports have it that Prince Harry had to deal with several people close to him who were not totally on board with his engagement with his now-wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. It is also being claimed that Philip, Duke of Edinburgh were allegedly one of those who voiced his contention about their union.
The Sunday Times alleged Prince Philip once told Prince Harry that Markle is not royal wife material mostly because of her profession before becoming the Duchess of Sussex. She was an actress and was best known as a series regular in the very popular legal drama “Suits.”
Markle left the show after its seventh season as rumors became rife that she was getting engaged to Prince Harry, which was what happened. Their engagement was confirmed by Kensington Palace in November 2017, and they ultimately got married on May 19, 2018. About a year later, the Sussex royals welcomed their first child, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
Earlier this year, the British royal family had been hounded with relentless rumors of feuds, especially between the houses of Prince Harry and Prince William. Such speculations were further ignited when Prince Harry and Markle officially moved to the Frogmore Cottage. Now, The Sunday Times also claimed that the younger royal has decided to “sideline” all the people close to him who used to have doubts about Markle and their relationship.
There were also reports that Prince Harry did not have the best response when Prince William shared his concerns over the relatively faster engagement he had with Markle. Take note that Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge met in 2003, had a brief breakup in 2007, and got engaged only in 2010 with a royal wedding following in 2011. Though things are likely getting better now between the royal brothers, especially since Middleton and Prince William were the first visitors that Prince Harry had after Markle gave birth.
