‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 7 Spoilers: Hanna Revealed to be Alive; Lucy Hale Hints at Love Triangle

‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 7 will kick off with answering questions regarding Hanna’s fate as the girls race against time to save her. Lucy Hale, who plays Aria in the series, also hinted of a new love triangle to steam up the final season.

The synopsis for the incoming season’s first episode posted on Zap2It stated, “How far will the Liars go to save Hanna in the Season 7 summer premiere? After Hanna’s shocking abduction by Uber A, the PLLs and company desperately race against the clock to save one of their own. The only way to do this is by handing over evidence of Charlotte’s real murderer to Uber A.’ In order to do so, the girls must decide what blatant lines they are willing to cross that they have never breached before; and once they cross that line, there is no turning back.”

According to TV Line, more drama will ensue as the members of the Liars are pushed to their breaking point enough for them to possibly commit another murder. Season 6’s finale ended with a cliffhanger, with audiences left wondering about Hanna’s (Ashley Benson) fate. As revealed in season 7’s official trailer, Hanna continues to live as the Liars are given 24 hours to save her life by performing a mysterious yet possibly disturbing task.

The promo opened to the girls digging a pit while sobbing in fear. The hashtag #SaveHanna is then flashed on screen with flashbacks of Hanna hanging lifelessly from the tower. The girls are clearly forced into something they shouldn’t be doing in exchange for their friend.

Meanwhile, Lucy Hale hinted at the rise of a complicated love triangle between her character Aria, Ezra (Ian Harding), and Liam (Roberto Aguire). According to Carter Matt, Hale revealed, “When we come back Aria is still with Liam, who is a long-time boyfriend, [but] Aria can’t get Ezra off her brain … You get to see a little bit of a love triangle and you get to see who she chooses.”

Showrunner I. Marlene King also tweeted that there will be a callback to Snookers in the season premiere, the bar where Aria and Ezra first hooked up.

‘Pretty Little Liars’ is a mystery drama television series based on the books by Sara Shepard. It is one of Freeform’s longest running series. Season 7 is scheduled to air on the network on June 21, 2016.
