Polish jobless rate likely to have remained at record-low level in September

Polish jobless rate data for the month of September is set to be released tomorrow. According to an Erste Group Research report, the unemployment rate is expected to have stayed at the record-low level of 5.8 percent for the second consecutive month.

The week’s data completes the picture of the labor market in Poland, which is likely to have stabilized recently, given the September reading for wage growth and employment, stated Erste Group Research.

Last week’s macro releases, such as industrial output and retail sales growth, came in well below market expectations. Given the release of economic indicators, the GDP growth is expected to have decelerated in the third quarter.

“We expect GDP growth to slow down to 4.7 percent y/y in 3Q18, given the drop in industrial production and retail sales growth in September”, added Erste Group Research.
