Gatorade, a top-tier brand under PepsiCo, is set to release a purified, unflavored Gatorade Water in early 2024, distinctive for its packaging in 100% recycled plastic bottles, catering to environmentally-conscious consumers.
Gatorade is a popular drink for athletes and people who engage in strenuous physical activities such as exercise. This brand is adding a new item to stretch its product lineup even more.
The brand's spokesperson said Gatorade Water is a "purified water that went through a seven-step, enhanced filtration process" to ensure strict purification. Each bottle contains between 65 and 90mg of sodium with zero calories, protein, or carbohydrates.
PepsiCo's Gatorade beverage unit further said that its latest product will be competitive in the market. Still, it will have a slight edge over its rivals because Gatorade Water uses purely recycled bottle containers.
Mike Del Pozzo, the beverage brand's president and general manager, said, "The Gatorade Portfolio continues to play in a league above our competitors by providing athletes with the most complete portfolio of performance and wellness solutions on the market. Gatorade Water will bring the trust and credibility of the Gatorade bolt to the water aisle, adding that unflavored alkaline water as yet another solution for active people."
At any rate, a report from People described the new Gatorade water as electrolyte-infused to achieve a refreshing and crisp taste. The product will be sold in different sizes and at reasonable prices.
Gatorade's senior marketing director, Emily Boido, commented, "Today's athletes and active people are looking for solutions not only in the heat of performance but also throughout their full day. Gatorade Water is a direct result of this consumer need and with the launch of Gatorade Water, we're bringing active people an unflavored alkaline water option that is electrolyte-infused for a refreshing and crisp taste and is from a brand they trust."
