The “Pebble Core” is the smallest portable computer in the market and “Pebble” just announced that its released will be accompanied by one of the hottest products in the tech industry right now; “Alexa.” According to Top Tech News, this development makes the “Pebble Core” the only standalone product to feature the artificial intelligence (AI) from “Amazon’s” “Echo” device.
Right now, the product is still under development and only recently closed its Kickstarter campaign with massive success by raising over $10 million. The device will come to the market early next year, along with two watches called “Pebble 2” and “Pebble Watch 2.”
"We're longtime fans of the powerful voice services Alexa delivers, and it only gets smarter and more useful over time," Pebble CEO Eric Migicovsky said. "It's an approach we embrace with our own products."
Capable of doing many of the functions that fitness trackers offer, the “Pebble Core” can be worn via keychains or inside pockets. Tech Insider made a list of some of the features that the device offers, including ones that it can do now courtesy of “Alexa.”
The “Core” will cost $99, as will the “Pebble 2,” but the “Pebble Time 2” will cost $169 because it’s made of stainless steel. Those who pledged $69 to the product’s Kickstarter campaign will also get a “Pebble Core.”
For just some of the things that the mini computer can do thanks to “Alexa,” voice-enabled commands can allow users to turn on their music, search for news headlines, bring up a shopping list, and even connect to their home devices by simply telling their “Pebble Core.” The device also comes with 4GB worth of memory, has 3G internet connectivity, and can be paired with a smartphone.
Future versions of the AI-paired device are also expected to interact with things like cars or garage doors.
