NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Dec. 05, 2017 -- Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that Duane Bourne has joined its corporate communications team as a manager of media relations. He will succeed Christie Miller, who has accepted a position on the communications team at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division. He will report to Beci Brenton, corporate director of public affairs.
“Throughout Duane’s career, he has developed a deep wealth of knowledge in the field of media relations,” said Jerri Dickseski, HII’s executive vice president of communications. “His early work as a journalist and his extensive public relations work with the U.S. Coast Guard and the energy industry give him a unique and multifaceted skill-set that we are excited to have on our team.”
