Will there be “Ozark” season 4? The answer is plain and simple. Even if Netflix has not renewed the show yet, it will clearly get an order for more episodes since the plot is just getting more interesting after the third installment premiered.
Netflix’s announcement for the show’s renewal
The official announcement must come from the streaming giant, and fans are still waiting up to now. Even the drama’s showrunner Chris Mundy and executive producer Jason Bateman are also waiting for any news about “Ozark” season 4’s renewal, but they said that they have confidence that their show would receive a green light.
In fact, Bateman, who is also the lead protagonist Marty Byrde in the series, said that they are working behind-the-scenes since they are still waiting for an official order from Netflix. Mundy also revealed that they have actually begun planning for “Ozark” season 4 as soon as they finished filming season 3.
“We are all operating under the hope it will happen,” the actor and EP disclosed to Collider. “It’s Netflix’s norm to wait for a show to premiere and collect the data for weeks two, three and four to see if there’s an audience there so they can justify the renewal for the additional season so I guess, we are in that period right now.”
In any case, one reason why Netflix has not issued the renewal for “Ozark” season 4 yet is because of the current situation around the world. People are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic that halted businesses and suspended production works in the entertainment field due to the high risk of contracting the infection.
Moreover, Deadline reported that the show has high viewership ratings, which is one of the requirements for a program to be renewed. Thus, it is certain that fans will get to see what will happen next to Marty, his wife Wendy, and their entire family via “Ozark” season 4.
Release date
“Ozark” season 4’s filming will be delayed due to COVID-19 and with that said, it is predicted that its earliest predicted release date is in 2022. While it will take a while, the fourth installment will pick up from the events in season 3’s finale.
