A lot of season 4 teasers have been released online, with ET Canada releasing short reels of both Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, who play Jamie and Claire Fraser, respectively, talking about what excites them for “Outlander” season 4. Still, much of the information regarding “Outlander” in the internet has been focused on the period drama's power couple.

The casting of Aunt Jocasta and Stephen Bonnet has already been known for almost a year but details about the roles of the two characters in “Outlander” season 4 have been sparse. Most of the details speculating about the introduction of the two characters rely upon their respective roles in Diana Gabaldon's “The Drums of Autumn,” the fourth book of the series that “Outlander” is based on.

Aunt Jocasta, to be played by Maria Doyle Kennedy who is best known for her work in "Orphan Black," has already been teased to be important to the Frasers' lives as they settle down in North Carolina. Heughan, in his own teaser reel, mentions that certain important people in his life will be reintroduced, which portends his meeting with his Aunt Jocasta. Jocasta may play a role in how the Frasers will come about owning the large tract of land in North Carolina called “Fraser's Ridge.”

On the other hand, Stephen Bonnet's entry into the series may be heartbreaking for a lot of fans who have read the book. To be played by Ed Speleers who debuted in "Eragon" and played James Kent in "Downton Abbey," Stephen Bonnet will be introduced as a savage pirate and smuggler who would be involved in the abuse of Jamie and Claire Fraser's daughter, Brianna Fraser, portrayed by Sophie Skelton.

Still, no official "Outlander" Season 4 materials have been released that feature the great Aunt Jocasta, nor the mysterious Stephen Bonnet. The next few months leading up to the “Outlander” Season 4 release in November may hopefully reveal more about the speculative nature of the new cast members.
