No matter how divided the anime fans are about the second season’s animation quality, there is no doubt that they all hope to see “One Punch Man” season 3 released. If one would like to speculate on its premiere schedule, the earliest time it could arrive is sometime in late 2020.

One Punch Man’ season 3 possible release date: Can new episodes arrive in 2020?

This series is one of the most popular manga/anime titles around the world that there is no doubt a demand for “One Punch Man” season 3 is present. However, it does not necessarily mean that an official announcement will arrive soon.

Home media sales remain one of the most important aspects of the anime industry, despite the advent of streaming platforms. It should be noted that the release of OPM season 2’s Blu-Ray/DVDs in Japan was delayed. Instead of last Aug. 27, the first volume (a.k.a. episodes 1 and 2) that comes with an exclusive 10-minute original video animation (OVA) is only coming out on Oct. 25. The remaining five volumes will be released one per every following month, placing the final release in March 2020. That makes it quite impossible for producers to make any big announcements about “One Punch Man” season 3 around this time.

If the wish of many fans is granted and “One Punch Man” season 3 will air next year, it should not be expected until the latter part of 2020. The most plausible time for a season 3 announcement is around summer considering the Blu-ray/DVDs release, making fall 2020 a possible release date window for season 3.

However, note that there was more than a two-year gap between season 2’s announcement and its premiere. So the late 2020 estimate release should be taken with a heaping amount of salt and expect that the release of new episodes could be as far as 2021.

One Punch Man’ season 3 plot: Garou becomes the focal point of the next episodes

What’s certain about “One Punch Man” season 3 is its plot, thanks to the manga series that fans can use as a reference. Saitama remains the main protagonist of the series, but the arc to be tackled in season 3 gives Garou more screen time.

The next episodes will let anime fans see through the other side of Garou other than being known as a human-monster. Certain characters will be introduced, allowing “One Punch Man” season 3 to show more of Garou’s human side.
