This anime is getting closer to its 1000th chapter and the end of Wano Country arc is also expected to end. “One Piece” chapter 996 is part of the cliffhanger in this arc since the war in Onigashima is ongoing.

The previous chapter 995 titled “A Kanouchi’s Oath” highlighted the clash between Marco and Big Mom with Charlotte Perospero. The two villains teamed up to eliminate Marco the Phoenix but fortunately, he was saved when Wanda and Carrot attacked after they confirmed that Perospero was responsible for Pedro’s death.
Big Mom then started to leave and moved to the Live Floor where the Ice Oni is spreading uncontrollably. Chopper was infected with the virus and the search for the antidote has been chaotic.
Scratchmen Apoo is being chased for the antidote and he tried his best to push people away. But as he does this, he has to face Drake and Zoro who managed to catch up to him. Zoro wants to end the chase fast and told Apoo that he would like to go to the dome and join Kinemon up on the dome thus fighting him will only be time-consuming.
As for Drake, he told Apoo he always hated him and the villain said he feels the way. Queen then viciously criticized Drake for joining Luffy’s alliance and fight the Kaido and the Beasts Pirates.
Meanwhile, Chopper is turning into a doctor as he is trying to analyze the Ice Oni and how it infected him. His investigation and deductions may lead to the formulation of a cure.

As per the spoilers posted on Reddit’s discussion forum for “One Piece” chapter 995, it was suggested that Marco can cause big damage to Big Mom’s Prometheus. She may possibly suffer from a big blow from Marco’s flame if they fight.
In any case, Apoo continues to run around Onigashima since he has the antidotes so he may face more opponents in “One Piece” chapter 996.
Zoro is predicted to search for the cure and he will not stop until he finds it. He wants to help everyone in their team so they can get back and be freed from the Ice demon disease. However, he himself may get infected and turned into an ice demon.
“One Piece” chapter 996 may also focus on Sanji as he battles Queen. Law and Kid will also appear and their battle with Kaido will be shown.
Meanwhile, “One Piece” chapter 996 is set to be released on Nov. 20, as per VIZ Media.
