‘One Piece’ chapter 966: Roger and Oden find a clue about the treasure

“One Piece” chapter 966 spoilers are finally here just how crazy the manga’s plot for this installment is. It will show just how eccentric these pirate captains can be as they can battle to the death one moment then party afterward like buddies.

Previous “One Piece” chapter 966 speculations were spot on when they predicted a Yonko-level fight between Roger and Whitebeard. But there is one detail that was missed – it was another person that made the first attack and got the battle started.

According to “One Piece” spoilers from Reddit user who goes by the name u/brikskohuh, the upcoming manga installment will be titled “Roger and Whitebeard.” But it was neither Roger nor Whitebeard that made the first move. Rather it was the impulsive Oden who was with Whitebeard’s crew at that time.

Oden, thinking that Roger’s group would steal the treasure, directly attacked Roger despite his teammates trying to stop him. Seeing Oden attack him, Roger was not angered in the least but was actually overjoyed to finally meet him.

Roger basically just ignored Oden’s attack but decided to directly attack Whitebeard instead. This started the clash between the two pirate groups that lasted for three days and three nights. Then on the fourth day, they partied as if nothing happened.

Meanwhile, Roger, Whitebeard, and Oden discussed among themselves about Roger’s discovery of some writings that he can’t read. Oden then opens up about the Kouzuki family’s use of secret codes.

Roger is convinced that the World Government’s prohibition on reading Poneglyphs is because there are secret messages and maps hidden within them. Thus he became even more convinced that he need Oden in his search of the treasure and asked Whitebeard to let him borrow Oden for one year.

Roger even bowed down to Oden and begged him to come with him and help in the treasure hunt. Oden finally relented and bought his family with him. Unknown to him, however, was that Nekomamushi and Inuarashi came as stowaways as well.

Apparently, Roger is on a tight schedule to find the treasure and make a name for himself because he only has one more year to live. The crew finally reached Sky Island (Skypiea) where Oden learned of a weapon called Poseidon that will be key to finding the treasure.
