It seems like the fight between Luffy and Katakuri is finally going to hit its end in “One Piece” Episode 869. This has been a long time coming and will likely make a lot of fans feel relieved since a lot of them have been expressing frustration at how long the bout was being dragged out. As for how it will actually end, it would seem that the next episode will see Luffy finally getting to the next stage of his potential.
As Inquistr notes, “One Piece” Episode 869 will basically see Luffy remembering his training with the pirate legend Rayleigh and how he was able to dodge attacks due to his observation Haki. The ability to predict the future is basically just a higher form of this particular skill, which is what Katakuri possesses. For the past few episodes, this is also the ability that Luffy has been trying to cultivate.
It would appear that “One Piece” Episode 869 is when he will finally be able to make use of it so that he can fight with the Sweets Commander on even grounds. The previous episode also saw how the honorable fighter injured himself in order to make up for the fact that someone from his side used a sneak attack on Luffy. This is where the real fight to prove who is stronger will finally begin.
The title of “One Piece” Episode 869 being “Wake Up! The Color of Observation Able to Top the Strongest!” This clearly states that Luffy will get the upper hand on his strongest opponent yet and that the fight will finally be at its end. As such, viewers will only need to watch one more episode of the bout.
“One Piece” Episode 869 will be hitting the small screen on Jan. 19. The Cake Island arc will finally end.
