“One Piece” episode 865 will be back to focusing on Luffy’s continuing fight against Katakuri. Luffy has yet to experience a win in this battle and Rayleigh might just help him do that.
While the other Straw Hats pirates are busy fighting the rest of the Charlotte clan army, Luffy has been stuck most of the time in the Mirro-World fighting Katakuri. Unfortunately, the Charlotte fighter can predict all of Luffy’s moves which is why Luffy has always been the one bloodied and groggy since their battle started. Will the Straw Hats captain turn this around in “One Piece” episode 865?
Avid fans who followed the Whole Cake Island arc might recall that a cameo appearance of Rayleigh hints that Luffy will soon gain an advantage over Katakuri. Fans will also know that Luffy is not one to back out from a battle. So even if Katakuri has been pummeling him throughout their fight, Luffy will be persistent in “One Piece” episode 865 especially after remembering Rayleigh.
Note that the former Roger Pirates member will not actually visit Whole Cake Island and help Luffy. But while planning on his next moves, Luffy will remember a conversation he had with Rayleigh which will further motivate him in “One Piece” episode 865. Rayleigh’s appearance is most likely through a flashback scene where he tells Luffy that a Haki grows more powerful when Luffy fights opponents stronger than him.
Katakuri’s Kenbunshoki Haki allows him to see the future and predict Luffy’s attack. This explains why at this point of the arc, Katakuri remains unscathed. But the video preview for “One Piece” episode 865 hints that Rayleigh’s memory will turn the events in favor of Luffy. Does this mean he will finally match Katakuri’s Haki soon?
The brief preview for “One Piece” episode 865 did not show an update on the other Straw Hats pirates. But they are also fighting a battle against Big Mom’s army with the Thousand Sunny facing the risk of getting destroyed. The new episode is expected to be released on Dec. 16.
