Escaping from Big Mom seems to be harder than it looks. While The Thousand Sunny has technically been able to escape because of Pedro and Luffy's sacrifice, Big Mom's crew continues to give chase to the Straw Hat Pirates on the open sea in “One Piece” episode 853.

The “One Piece” episode 853 preview trailer shows Big Mom as determined as ever to catch up to the Thousand Sunny by utilizing the rest of her powers. Jimbei is shown to step up next in the race to escape Big Mom's wrath. As the Thousand Sunny's helmsman, fans will get a chance to see Jinbei's skill as he steers the ship to safety from Big Mom's attack using the Green Room in the upcoming episode.

Aside from Big Mom's chase of the Thousand Sunny, fans may wonder how things are going in the battle between Luffy and Katakuri by “One Piece” episode 853. The two have been battling since episode 851 after Pedro's sacrifice with Luffy taking a beating from Katakuri for two episodes. Fans may actually wonder if Katakuri is as strong as he says he is if it takes him more than two episodes to beat Luffy to a pulp.

Still, it looks like Luffy will need to unleash his Gear 4 techniques to be able to overcome Katakuri. While it is unsure why Luffy has yet to deploy the technique against Katakuri prior to “One Piece” episode 853, using the Gear 4 Technique may actually be bad for Luffy in the fight against Katakuri in the long run. Fans will know that using the Gear 4 Technique will severely exhaust Luffy after the technique's duration has ended. Luffy will have to make sure that Katakuri is definitely beaten if he plans to deploy the Gear 4 technique.

Fans looking forward to “One Piece” episode 853 can catch the episode when it airs on Sept. 16.
