Nvidia, one of the market’s best performing stocks, announced that it will launch graphic cards that are exclusively designed for cryptocurrency mining, CNBC reported.
The company said that the graphic cards will be launched through its partners and the product listings for AMD-based cryptocurrency mining cards were recently on the website of ASUS, a leading maker of graphics cards.
“ASUS Mining P106 enhances the megahash rate by up to 36% compared cards in the same segment that are not tailored for mining. The new card is also engineered to be seriously durable, enabling 24/7 operation for uninterrupted coin production,” the product listing on ASUS, said.
The product specifications said that the ASUS Mining P106 uses an Nvidia chip and that the Nvidia-based card is legitimate.
Nvidia, AMD and ASUS have not officially announced the digital currency mining cards and are not sure when the cards will be available for sale. The increasing demand for Nvidia and AMD graphics cards are due to the recent jump in the digital currency prices. Cryptocurrency miners use graphics cards to mine new coins, which can then be sold or held for future appreciation.
AMD told CNBC that another factor that is driving demand for its graphic card is ‘newly resurgent cryptocurrency mining markets’.
