“No Man's Sky” just took a significant step towards the vision that Hello Games' Sean Murray had communicated to excited gamers everywhere back in 2016. The game just released its latest update, “Next,” on the PC and PlayStation 4, along with the title's landing on the Xbox One.

Early hands-on reviews are gushing about the much-improved experience that the update provides compared to the polarizing release it originally had in 2016. The “Next” update already includes all the updates the game has had since its 2016 release. These updates have already added so much to explore for any new players still on the fence about getting into “No Man's Sky” in 2018 that the “Next” update feels like a whole new game experience for any “No Man's Sky” veteran.
One of the update's most massive changes to the game is the inclusion of the originally promised multiplayer component of “No Man's Sky.” Players can finally experience a cooperative mode, where teams of two to four players can help each other out while up to 16 players can run into each other in each instance of a star system. While only a small number of players can be present in each instance of a solar system, players have the choice of either fighting or helping each other out when they do run into one another.
Considering the prominence that multiplayer will be bringing to the game, the “Next” update also brings a third-person camera option, along with character customization, updated character models, and animations, including a gesture system which can allow players to communicate to each other with a click of a hotkey.
Aside from the feature updates, “No Man's Sky's" "Next” update includes beautiful graphical additions to the game that enhance the immersion of both veteran and new players.
With the wealth of possibilities that the new “Next” update is bringing along with its market expansion into Xbox One Territory and Hello Games' dedication to keep the game as updated as possible, “No Man's Sky's” ambition may finally be paying off.
