A recent leak claims the Nintendo Switch 2 dock will enable faster performance but may disappoint fans with its rumored 4K resolution limit at 30 FPS. Updated Joy-Con details and dock specifications provide intriguing hints at the next-gen console's capabilities.
Nintendo Switch 2 Leak Raises Eyebrows Over Dock Design
According to a Reddit member named NextHandheld, who claims to have had access to Nintendo's upcoming console, has shared some more details on the system, the dock, and the Joy-Con controller, and has even provided evidence that their claims are true.
The Verge has also been presented with such evidence, which includes images of the system's dock and the interior of what could be a controller rail. After speaking with them, they have also come to the conclusion that the leaker could be legitimate.
Although most of the details shared by NextHandheld are consistent with those that have been circulating online for the last several weeks, there is some fresh information on the Nintendo Switch 2 dock that has not been displayed in any of the earlier leaks.
Fresh Insights Into Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Ventilation
In order to allow for horizontal placement without obstructing a possible set of vents, the dock, as seen in the photo provided to The Verge, has large feet surrounding the rear.
Even though it's not how the dock is normally positioned, these feet might have been added to keep it from getting too hot in the event that it is inadvertently pushed over. And if the leaker has indeed confirmed, if in a cryptic fashion, that the dock has vents, then it's highly probable that the console will operate quicker when docked.
The leaker also claimed that the dock has a power rating of 60W, which is significantly higher than the original model's 45W rating, and that it will only be able to output 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, which, if confirmed, would be somewhat disappointing.
Anticipation Builds Around Nintendo Switch 2 Announcement
As previously said, NextHandheld also disclosed a plethora of more details on the Nintendo Switch 2. On the Nintendo Switch 2 subreddit, you can discover a synopsis of the leaker's information.
We at WCCFTECH urge you to treat all of the new material with extreme skepticism, even though the leaker has supplied proof.
While no official announcement has been made on the Nintendo Switch 2, rumors have circulated that the announcement could be made shortly after the new year starts.
