SAN JOSE, Calif., March 01, 2018 -- Enhancing the ROI prospects of small businesses such as fruit or vegetable packing houses, A&D Weighing announced today the launch of its HT-CL series of compact scales.
With a highly-visible, traffic-light style LED comparator, the new scales make packing small fruits, vegetables, or other items within designated limits faster and more accurate than utilization of a numeric display alone. The new comparator function features three-color LED lights, which immediately indicate whether the weight measured is too low (RED), just right (GREEN), or too high (ORANGE) by comparing it with set upper and lower limits.
“This new feature provides workers with two key benefits: speed and accuracy,” said Terry Duesterhoeft, President and CEO of A&D – Americas. “The scale operator can simply glance at the display to quickly determine if the product weight is what it should be. This feature increases profits by enhancing throughput while simultaneously reducing losses due to over-packing or other mistakes.”
The new HT-CL series of compact scales also offers the following features and benefits:
- Negative comparison: this feature allows operators to utilize the scale as a checkweigher by removing items from a master carton and then placed in the target container to be packed. This is possible by setting upper and lower limits of the comparator in either positive or negative values: When set in negative values, the scale shows whether the weight taken out from the container is within limits.
- Extended battery life: To extend battery life, an auto power OFF function turns the display off automatically when the scale is left untouched for 5 minutes. The scale also displays the remaining battery level to prevent the batteries running out unexpectedly while in use.
There are four models in the new HT-CL series: HT-300CL (310 g × 0.1 g), HT-500CL (510 g × 0.1 g), HT-3000CL (3100 g × 1 g), and HT-5000CL (5100 g × 1 g). The series have ounce (oz), lb-oz, and troy ounce display units. Each HT-CL comes as a complete kit with an AC adapter and storage case that makes it ultra-portable and stackable for storage. An optional stainless steel pan cover is available for heavy-duty users.
“At A&D Weighing, we have made a new and major commitment to innovation and product development,” said Mr. Duesterhoeft. “In 2018 alone, we plan to release 15 new weighing products, and the launch of our new HT-CL represents a key component in our launch schedule for this year.”
The full series is available online.
