New Balance introduces two new eye-catching designs: the Tonal Grey 2002R and the WRPD Runner in 'Olivine.' The 2002R features a signature grey suede upper, while the WRPD Runner boasts a unique 'Olivine' colorway with a militaristic FuelCell unit and complementary overlays.
New Balance 2002R Returns in Tonal Grey, Maintaining Its Signature Style Despite Popularity Decline
The New Balance 2002R has had an intriguing run, with a modest decline in popularity since its release in the "Protection Pack" of last year. In the interim, the New Balance 2002R has maintained its original composition, which was the reason for its initial popularity, even though frequent collaborators such as Aime Leon Dore, Action Bronson, and Joe Freshgoods have transitioned to other silhouettes.
Sneaker News reported that you would recognize the color scheme in action, which renders the signature grey a true load-bearing tone by occupying the majority of the suede portions on the upper. This pair comprises light grey, black, white, and off-white. The mesh underlays and the N-ergy modules on the midsole are the most prominent displays of the latter color.
It is anticipated that the New Balance 2002R will be available for purchase at designated retailers and on the New Balance website this autumn.
New Balance WRPD Runner Celebrates First Anniversary with Innovative 'Olivine' Colorway Release
The New Balance WRPD Runner is approaching its first anniversary, and while the designs reviewed so far have been appealing, a genuinely defining colorway for this burgeoning silhouette is still anticipated. The “Olivine” WRPD Runner, with its unique and innovative color-blocking, is a potential game-changer in the shoe's evolution. Unlike its predecessors, who favored trademark NB neutrals or vibrant two-tone arrangements, this design is fresh air.
The "Olivine" colorway showcases the FuelCell unit in a militaristic shade, employing a contrast sole formula used for years in the footwear industry to make a statement. Although the sole is significantly different from the upper in terms of saturation, the upper's notes are complementary, transitioning between "Linen" suede overlays and "Brighton Grey" mesh underpinnings. The look is completed by a dark grey rubber swatch protruding from the medial midsole.
The WRPD Runner's construction makes it an eye-catching piece of footwear; however, this particular pair strikes a perfect balance between conservative and eccentric. This unique blend of styles makes it a standout piece and ensures its versatility, potentially serving as a foundation for future designs.
The New Balance WRPD Runner "Olivine" is available for $150 on NewBalance.com.
