In a very rare occasion, Special Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will be taking a “quiet vacation” in “NCIS” season 16 episode 4. However, former FBI Agent Fornell (Joe Spano) and a robber on the loose will foil this uncommon attempt at leaving the stress of naval investigations.
Gibbs is not known for taking vacations for over the past decade that the show has been on the air. But the official synopsis for “NCIS” season 16 episode 4, titled "Third Wheel," confirms that the leading NCIS agent will be taking a time off.
The teaser reveals that Gibbs will be spending some time in the woods in a remote cabin. But his plan to do this alone will not last for long after a “surprise visit” from his longtime close friends Fornell and Navy Captain Phillip Brooks (Don Lake) in “NCIS” season 16 episode 4.
Gibbs’s vacation will also be foiled by “a call from NCIS.” The HQ will be needing Gibbs’s help in finding a robber who is likely a person of interest in an upcoming case in “NCIS” season 16 episode 4. This hints that Gibbs’s supposed vacation will turn out to be a search mission with Fornell and Brooks.
HQ will call for Gibbs’s help after suspecting that the robber is hiding somewhere near Gibbs’s vacation cabin in “NCIS” season 16 episode 4. It is interesting to see another episode where Gibbs and Fornell are back in the woods. The last time they went on an off-the-grid vacation, Fornell was on the brink of a breakdown following Diane’s assassination.
Making the “NCIS” season 16 episode 4 more interesting is the return of Brooks. For a recap, the Navy Captain first appeared in the penultimate episode of season 15, titled "Fallout." He was obliged to fake his own death so Gibbs could investigate who wanted to take him out.
Apart from being Gibbs’s close friend, Brooks also seemed to be a fun character to have. So fans are likely looking forward to seeing him again — this time, in an “adventure” with Fornell (see photo above) — in “NCIS” season 16 episode 4.
The police procedural series airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. “NCIS” season 16 episode 4 will be released on Oct. 16.
