“NCIS” Season 16 is going to be putting Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team at odds with the secretary of defense as they’re going to be going against the latter’s orders. As such, the squad will be investigated sometime during this installment, a recurring theme that’s been explored in other “NCIS” spin-offs, TVLine reported.
While little is known regarding how this will unfold, the recent introduction of CIA Officer Agent Westley Clark (Scott William Winters) might have to do something with this matter. Fans of the series have already expressed their distrust in Agent Clark despite appearing as someone inconsequential. The apprehension stems from Director Vance’s (Rocky Carroll) uneasiness towards the character in the recently aired Halloween episode of “NCIS” Season 16.
During this episode, Agent Clark said that he’s investigating a murder that’s also being looked into by the NCIS squad. However, viewers aren’t buying the agent’s story given how often he mentioned Hakim (Pej Vahdat), the antagonist responsible for kidnapping Vance in the previous installment, Country Living reported. Although Clark’s limited appearance didn’t provide any more details as to the true intention of the agent, it’s speculated that he might return sometime around “NCIS” Season 16.
This reappearance may very well be during the time or after Gibbs and his team disobey the orders of the secretary of defense. Following this, Agent Clark may appear again and it’s possible he’ll helm the investigation that will scrutinize the squad and how they conduct their operations. Meanwhile, the next episode of “NCIS” Season 16 will be delayed for a week due to the coverage of the midterm election.
However, CBS did release a synopsis for the episode, which revealed that Eleanor (Emily Wickersham) will be in the spotlight in “A Thousand Words.” The story revolves around the field agent and the stolen mural by an activist and street artist. What’s more, Eleanor seems to have some sort of connection to this artist, which will shed some light on the agent’s life outside of her profession. “NCIS” Season 16 Episode 7 is slated for release on Nov. 13.
