Mos Burger Launches Atsu Atsu Osatsu Balls and Sweet Potato Shake for Fall Moon-Viewing Season
Three prized Japanese sweet potato varieties are at the heart of Mos Burger's latest fall desserts.
As the moon-viewing season kicks off in Japan, fast-food chains are rolling out their seasonal offerings, and Mos Burger is no exception. Known for its high-quality sweets alongside its famous burgers, the chain is introducing two new autumn treats that perfectly complement its limited-time Tsukimi Focaccia sandwich, per SoraNews24.
First, the Atsu Atsu Osatsu Balls, named for "atsu atsu" (meaning "piping hot") and "osatsu" (sweet potato), are Mos Burger’s take on Taiwan’s QQ balls. These bite-sized treats feature a dough infused with purple sweet potato powder and a filling made from Narutokintoki, a premium sweet potato from Tokushima Prefecture, paired with sweet red bean paste. The two-tone color scheme mimics a real sweet potato, and the outer layer is crisp while the inside remains soft and chewy. Moss warns that these snacks are served extremely hot and recommends letting them cool slightly before enjoying them.
Mos Burger Introduces Satsumaimo Mazeru Shake, Featuring Japan’s Sweetest Sweet Potatoes for Fall
For those who prefer their sweets in a drinkable form, Mos Burger also offers a Satsumaimo Mazeru Shake. This sweet potato shake combines a vanilla base with sweet potato sauce made from two esteemed varieties: Maron Gold and Beni Haruka, both hailing from Kagoshima Prefecture. The Beni Haruka, known for being Japan's sweetest sweet potato, even contributes its skin to the sauce, adding extra texture to the drink.
Both desserts launch on September 11 and will be available until mid-November or while supplies last. The Atsu Atsu Osatsu Balls are priced at 260 yen for three pieces and 430 yen for five, while the Satsumaimo Mazeru Shake is available for 340 yen (small) and 420 yen (medium). With their rich flavors and carefully selected ingredients, these autumn treats will appeal to sweet potato lovers and moon-viewing enthusiasts alike.
