Monero (XMR) is trading near $528 as the cryptocurrency attempts to stabilize following a sharp correction from its September highs. Despite recent selling pressure, XMR remains above its crucial 50-day moving average at approximately $515, suggesting that the broader bullish trend remains intact.
The Monero price has declined roughly 17% from its September peak near $635. However, the rapid rejection of that rally indicates that the more significant resistance zone lies between $590 and $600.
Recent trading activity shows XMR consolidating within a narrow range. The latest daily candle recorded a high of $544 and a low of $519, reflecting uncertainty among traders as the market searches for its next direction.
Technical indicators highlight $515 as the immediate support level, supported by the 50-day moving average. Below that, additional support appears at $483, where buyers recently stepped in following a sudden price decline.
During that selloff, Monero briefly touched $483 before recovering quickly, demonstrating strong buying interest below the psychologically important $500 level. The 100-day moving average near $472 provides another potential support area if bearish pressure intensifies.
On the upside, XMR faces immediate resistance between $540 and $545, followed by $560 and the stronger resistance zone around $590.
The cryptocurrency's longer-term technical outlook remains positive, with major moving averages continuing to trend upward. Its 200-day moving average, currently near $430, also reinforces the broader bullish structure.
Meanwhile, declining trading volume during the correction suggests that selling pressure has weakened. However, subdued buying activity indicates that investors remain cautious about initiating aggressive positions.
For Monero bulls, a daily closing price above $545 could confirm renewed upward momentum and open the door toward $560. A sustained breakout could eventually bring the $590 resistance level back into focus.
Conversely, a daily close below $515 would weaken the current bullish setup and increase the likelihood of another test of $483. Further losses could expose the 100-day moving average near $472.
For now, Monero's next major price movement depends on whether XMR breaks above $545 or falls below $515, with either outcome potentially determining its near-term market direction.
