Miranda Lambert and her bandmates in Pistol Annies are making waves online as the music video of their song “Got My Name Changed Back” recently dropped. The single is the first track in their “Interstate Gospel” album, due for release this coming Friday.
The release will be accompanied by Pistol Annies' performance in New York, with a Los Angeles concert following on Nov. 7. While the single itself isn’t particularly a masterpiece, the lyrics of it are stirring things up among fans of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, Us Magazine reported.
“Well, I’ve got me an ex that I adored. But he got along good with a couple road whores. Got my name changed back,” the country singer sings. Although Miranda Lambert doesn’t mention Blake Shelton’s name in the song, fans are assuming that the crooner is the person she’s referencing.
Towards the end of the track, Miranda Lambert also alludes to the how she “broke his heart and took his money.” It can be recalled that Lambert and Blake Shelton didn’t exactly part on good terms despite what both of them are saying.
“This is not the future we envisioned,” Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton said in a joint statement through their respective representatives. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends, and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
After they legally separated, Blake Shelton started dating Gwen Stefani when the couple’s romance blossomed on the set of “The Voice.” Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert jumped from one relationship to the next, with her latest heartbreak involving Evan Felker.
The ex-couple’s relationship only lasted six months. Miranda Lambert started seeing Evan Felker even though the latter was still married to Staci Felker at the time, which made her unpopular among several people on social media.
Now, the pair’s romance has died down and there’s still no development regarding who Miranda Lambert is currently seeing. But given that she will be promoting the upcoming album, the songstress is going to be busy in the coming months and will have little time for finding another potential flame.
