“Minecraft Earth” is currently in its beta phase and Microsoft has yet to announce when the game will officially launch. However, the company did announce that they’re gearing up to add Android users into the fold of beta testers.
Those who are playing “Minecraft Earth” on iOS have been lucky enough to access the beta version last month, and there have been droves of content available on the web as previews. Now, Android users will be able to play it too.
A few things to remember, though. You’re going to need Microsoft or Xbox Live account to access “Minecraft Earth.” Your device needs to be running on Android 7 or higher. And you’ll also need to be in either London, Seattle, Stockholm, Tokyo, or Mexico City to be able to play as these cities are the only areas that have been selected for the beta, Windows Central reported.
Be careful when entering Buildplate mode in Minecraft Earth
Having met these requirements, you’re now able to play “Minecraft Earth.” Most of the gameplay in the beta phase mainly revolves around collecting resources and building structures. That’s it. So if you’re expecting a lot of content, it’s best to stay away from the game until it’s ready.
But it’s still a good idea to play “Minecraft Earth” to acquaint yourself with the various gameplay mechanics. You can build structures in two different modes. There is the Buildplate mode where you can create your would-be structure in a miniaturized setting. Remember that everything you do in the Buildplate is saved after exiting it so don’t start any fire or whatever shenanigans unless you want to blow your buildings up, Pocket-lint reported.
Minecraft Earth Life-Size mode will give you all the freedom you want
The next “Minecraft Earth” mode is the LifeSize mode where you can drop your buildings on a location and have it blow up significantly. You can enter these structures and make tweaks within the building. As opposed to the Buildplate, you can do whatever you like in Life-Size mode without any consequences.
With regards to gathering resources, “Minecraft Earth” will task you to travel in the real world in search of “Tappables.” Think of these as PokeStops where you can tap on the icon, and it will yield random resources.
Adventures in “Minecraft Earth” will be integrated in the future. These are fun quests mode where you battle monsters with your friends and overcome whatever challenges these Adventures have to offer. As for when the game will be available, Microsoft said it would come out this year, but no exact date has been announced as of this writing. Perhaps it will come out in November or December, but this is just speculation for now.
