Miley Cyrus’ dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, is reportedly not happy with his daughter’s relationship with Cody Simpson.
According to Globe, Billy has been urging the “Wrecking Ball” singer to split from Simpson because he thinks that the Australian singer is a “poor imitation” of Miley’s ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth. Billy is not a fan of Simpson, and he also thinks that he’s a “boring doofus.”
Miley’s dad is reportedly close to Hemsworth and the two of them had a blast exchanging stories while smoking weed. Simpson, on the other hand, doesn’t have interesting and fun stories to share other than his surfing escapades and lame movie choices.
After months of dating, Billy told his daughter that she could so much better than Simpson. Luckily for the latter, the former child star has remained unfazed by her dad’s constant criticisms.
In fact, the couple just shared an adorable photo revealing how they are spending time with each other during the coronavirus outbreak. The couple is currently in Australia, and they have been hanging out at Simpson’s home.
Cyrus was originally in Australia for her upcoming bushfire concert in Melbourne. But due to the coronavirus outbreak, the singer decided to cancel her live performances.
“Australia: Due to the recommendations of local, state, federal and international government authorities, including the Center for Disease Control, to reduce potential health risks in response to the current global health crisis, we are no longer traveling to Australia for the show. am so disappointed to not be there, but I have to do what is right to protect the health and safety of my band and crew. I will still be making a donation to help the victims of the Australian bushfires. I'm sorry to miss everyone in Australia, but I will be back soon,” she wrote.
While speaking with Daily Mail, concert promoters TEG Dainty also expressed their disappointment over Cyrus’ decision. They also said that those who purchased tickets will receive a full refund.
