Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been hit with some of the most unbelievable rumors through the years. For one, there were claims that the singer’s family does not want Hemsworth for Cyrus because they are worried he is only interested in her fortune.
The celebrity rumor fact-checking website Gossip Cop looks back to a story that came out a year ago claiming that Hemsworth only wants Cyrus because of her money. Citing an article published by OK! Magazine in 2017, Gossip Cop reiterates information shared in their previous report to debunk the rumor.
The 2017 article from OK! purportedly claimed that Hemsworth stopped spending anything for Cyrus after getting her an extravagant engagement ring. The story further claimed that while Cyrus does not mind this, her family is not okay with it.
Gossip Cop recalled that a “Cyrus confidante” provided a statement denying OK!’s report and added that Liam Hemsworth actually “frequently spends money” for Miley Cyrus. The fact-checking outlet also got a comment from a representative of Cyrus’ father, who called the rumor “untrue.”
Cyrus and Hemsworth are obviously a well-loved addition to each of their families. Cyrus and Hemsworth are also frequently seen joining each other’s family to celebrate important holidays. Cyrus’s mom and dad are also not shy in showing love for the "Hunger Games" actor on social media.
Months after OK!’s story was published, both of Cyrus’s parents shared a photo of the “Malibu” singer along with Elton John and Hemsworth. Billy Ray Cyrus said in the caption that seeing the three together in one photo is “too cool.” Meanwhile, Tish Cyrus shared the same photo and said in her own caption, “Love these three to pieces!”
Both Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth also do not seem to be affected by these wild rumors. The two have been practically inseparable since they got back together in early 2016.
In the past week, Hemsworth shared a couple of videos detailing how easy it is for him to scare Cyrus with his silly pranks. Fans of the couple are obviously enjoying seeing these candid moments but, unfortunately, Cyrus has to pay the price.
