Microsoft Surface Book 3 is anticipated to be thinner and come with a minimalistic design. It is also expected to improve some of its parts and features for better and provide more convenience to the users.
In particular, based on Microsoft’s patent filing for “High Strength Hinge Mechanism,” the Microsoft Surface Book 3 will be fitted with a stronger, more flexible and durable hinge mechanism. The patent was submitted in 2017, and the tech company might have started working on producing new laptops with this detail.
Moreover, presumably, the newest Microsoft Surface laptop will have its hinge redesigned to accommodate more functions and create a better overall architecture that is also powerful.
According to Microsoft, “The hinge mechanism includes a friction element and a cylindrical shaft secured to the friction element and to a chassis of the display portion. The friction element is configured to apply friction to the shaft in a radial direction as the shaft is rotated.”
The company added that the rotation of the shaft enables the display portion to be rotated from a closed position to a fully-open position. As per Forbes, the Microsoft Surface Book 3 specs may include an Ice Lake processor from Intel and AMD graphics cards. It may also come with a Radeon card that will make the machine perfect for gaming.
Thunderbolt 3 port for faster data transfers may also be found in the new Surface book. More ports should ensure that various accessories would be compatible with the machine. As for the memory and storage, Microsoft Surface Book 3 could also feature higher RAM.
Price for Microsoft Surface Book 3 may be around $1,200 to $2,500 for 13 to 12-inch models. The target release date for this laptop is sometime in 2020, but the official announcement may come as early as the last quarter of this year.
