While Microsoft has been getting a lot of flak for its botched Windows 10 rollout years after its initial launch, its updates seem to be receiving the opposite reaction. The Windows 10 Creators update has been particularly well-received by reviewers and publications because of its many wonderful new features. They include new assets for gaming, drawing, video editing, and more.
The new update reportedly comes with quite a few goodies, with PC World practically drooling over the new features on offer. The update won’t be available to most existing users until April 11th when they will be able to download it free of charge. For new users, however, a $120 fee will be necessary to get the version for Windows 10 Home, while Windows 10 Pro users will need to pay $200.
What’s more, getting the Windows 10 OS will require payment now since the free upgrade option ended a while ago. Users who agreed to the offer while it was still free and put up with all the issues that came with it beforehand will at least get something in return for their troubles.
In any case, one of the new features that users can expect from the Creators update is the previously-announced “Game Mode,” which is part of a new section dedicated to gamers. It will offer processing boosts to get those extra frames per second and will also provide players with the ability to stream their video game sessions via Beam.
Paint is also getting a makeover with the update by becoming 3D, USA Today reports, which should make things easier for aspiring architects or animators. Users will even be able to write texts on videos, which is an option that is available on high-end, paid software products.
Naturally, there is a substantial boost to security and Microsoft is promoting Edge internet browser, once again. The company claims that Edge is now faster, more secure, and more energy efficient than ever before.
