Michael Schumacher rumored to be recovering from ‘breakthrough treatment’ as Lewis Hamilton caught up with Schumi’s Singapore GP record

Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher has been reported to have gotten a new treatment at a hospital in Paris and the results are said to be remarkable. The F1 legend underwent a stem cell therapy procedure at Georges Pompidou Hospital last week and this was apparently, kept a secret from the public.

Based on the report by The Telegraph, the racing champ is recovering well as he is now conscious following the surgery that was done by the same doctor who was said to be a pioneer in stem cell treatment. The Schumacher family trusted Dr. Philippe Menasche to do wonders on Schumi as he previously performed the world's first embryonic cell transplant on a patient with a heart ailment and it yielded good results thus they trust that he will also help the 50-year-old F1 legend to get back to health.

The stem cell treatment’s results

According to Le Parisien, the paper that originally published the story about Michael Schumacher’s treatment in Paris, he responded well to the treatment and in fact, went home ‘conscious.’ The procedure allegedly was carried out for just three days and Schumi was driven back to his home via an ambulance although he was flown by a helicopter when he was transferred to the hospital on the first day. The stem cell treatment is called a breakthrough procedure since it is very new but reportedly, already healed many patients.

Schumacher's record matched by a new breed of F1 drivers

With Michael Schumacher being inactive for years now, it was revealed that anther great driver, Lewis Hamilton, has already caught up with his records like in the recent Singapore GP. It was reported that he has the same record as Schumi now and leading in the Grand Prix in Singapore.

With Schumacher not in the scene, Lewis Hamilton is considered as the man to beat in the F1 races. He won seven out of his 11 races in the last few years and these victories made him the world’s five-time champ after competing in around 142 races in his career which is the same as with Michael Schumacher.
