Michael Schumacher was reported to have availed one of the latest treatments available today which is the stem cell therapy. Based on the report the F1 legend underwent surgery more than two weeks ago and he is now back home in Switzerland.
The treatment was said to have been carried out at a hospital in Paris and Le Parisien, a local newspaper, published an article about his trip and treatment at Georges-Pompidou Hospital so the news seems legit. Then again, as always, his family refused to confirm if Schumi indeed had the stem cell therapy so most of the available information was gathered from sources who witnessed or personally know something about Michael Schumacher’s alleged surgery.
The secret treatment in Paris
As per The Telegraph, Le Parisien wrote that Schumacher was flown via helicopter to Georges-Pompidou Hospital in the second week of September. The hospital also refused to answer questions about the racing champ’s procedure or if he was really brought there but since the institution did not admit or deny anything, then there’s a chance that the treatment really took place.
It was even revealed that it was Dr.Philippe Menasche, a well-known doctor who pioneered the stem cell therapy procedure was the one who personally attended to Schumi. The treatment yielded great results in many patients before so Michael Schumacher’s family is also hoping that it will work and do a miracle to heal the sportsman.
The result of the treatment - Did Schumi got better?
In another report after Schumacher’s supposed treatment, it was said that the stem cell treatment worked great so far. A nurse allegedly disclosed that the F1 champ is already conscious and displaying signs of recovery after the surgery.
"Yes he is in my service," a nurse reportedly said. "And I can assure you that he is conscious."
Then again, it is not clear if Michael Schumacher was also conscious before the treatment took place or if the nurse was suggesting that he is not “conscious” before the treatment.
Meanwhile, Michael Schumacher has not been out in public since his unfortunate accident in December 2013. His skiing accident left him with severe injuries including extensive brain damage. He was said to be in a coma for about half a year but it is not clear if he can already get up from his bed or not.
