McDonald's unveils a one-of-its-kind collaboration with Studio Pierrot to bring anime to life in its stores. The fast-food giant is offering a unique experience to anime and manga fans as it debuts "WcDonald's," a fictional restaurant.
McDonald’s x Studio Pierrot Team Up
According to Restaurant Business Online, on Monday, Feb. 26, McDonald's outlets in over 30 countries worldwide will turn into WcDonald's. These stores will offer food items created based on anime, such as the new spicy WcNuggets sauce. This limited-time sauce was made with a combination of soy, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
It was reported that the anime campaign had taken the burger joint months to develop with the help of creative agencies, Studio Pierrot Japanese animation company, and anime artist Acky Bright. Their expertise has created this immersive anime experience that customers who love anime will surely appreciate and enjoy.
The First-Ever Official WcDonald's Anime at McDonald's
WcDonald's was created by fans and has been an essential element in Japanese-style 2D animation anime films and shows for years. This month, McDonald's worked to come to life, Nation's Restaurant News reported.
With its partnership with Studion Pierrot, McDonald's produced the first anime series. There will be four short episodes that will take fans into the world of WcDonald's. Every week, the chain will release a story about the WcDonald's Sauce and WcNuggets starting Feb. 26. The WcDonald's will include these anime titles: "The Race to WcDonald's," "Love from Across the Booth," "WcNuggets Space Frontier 3000," and "The Wisdom of the Sauce."
"Anime is a huge part of today's culture, and we love that our fans have been inviting us into the conversation for years," McDonald's USA's chief marketing and customer experience officer, Tariq Hassan, said in a press release. "The WcDonald's universe is a reflection of what fans have created. It honors their vision and celebrates their creativity, while authentically bringing it to life in our restaurants for the first time ever."
