“MacGyver” Season 3 Episode 15 will be introducing a new character called Desiree Nguyen (Levi Tran). Desi will be replacing Jack (George Eads) so it goes without saying that she needs to make quite the impression to audiences for her to receive a warm welcome. And so far, the character looks promising already.
The trailer for “MacGyver” Season 3 Episode 15 showed that Desi is skilled in various combat aspects including stealth, firearms, hand-to-hand combat, and even parkour. This new operative has also worked with Jack in the past so she’s no stranger to the dangerous life that Angus and his team are leading.
Indeed, Desi seems to be the sort of person that takes her work seriously as she understands that a minute error could result in someone’s death. Apart from Desi’s introduction, “MacGyver” Season 3 Episode 15 will also be dealing with a case that has been inspired by real-life events. Below is the synopsis for the upcoming release:
“After a surprising introduction to Phoenix's newest recruit, Desi, MacGyver, and the team are assigned to protect a gun-sniffing dog who has a bounty on its head,” the blurb reads. While this hasn’t been confirmed just yet, the writers appear to have based this story on Sombra, the Colombian drug-sniffing dog that has a $70,000 bounty on her head. But instead of narcotics, “MacGyver” Season 3 Episode 15 will have their version tracking guns instead.
Sombra – which is Shadow in English – has been involved in almost 300 operations that have led to the arrest of 245 people and the seizure of 9 tons’ worth of cocaine. As a result, her achievements have caught the attention of the Urabeños gang who are operating within the region. It would be interesting to see the version of “MacGyver” Season 3 Episode 15 and what other changes they’ve applied to their version of Sombra. Regarding the release date of this much-anticipated episode, CBS has slated it to air on Feb. 15.
