All signs are pointing to the fact that Season 2 of Marvel’s “Luke Cage” are underway.
Although Netflix has yet to respond to rumors about the return of the bulletproof hero, eagle-eyed fans sighted and snapped several filming signs all over New York, which is home to “Luke Cage,” Den of Geek noted. The signages showed the word “Tiara,” which is reportedly the production title of the Marvel superhero series. Simon Missick, who is known in the series as the tough detective Misty Knight, tweeted that she was back in training, probably for the show.
Along with a muscled arm and water emojis, she wrote, Day 1: Back at it. Til' the sweat...#mistyknight #mistysofit #actorslife #cardio #weighttraining”
Comicbook also detailed the two new characters who would be appearing on the show. Citing MCU exchange, the two characters are named Byron and Tamara, and will make some departures to the show.
“Based on some audition tape material - “Luke Cage” season 2 will change a bit of Marvel Canon and give Luke a sister [Tamara}, instead of a brother, as it is in the comics. Luke's family (mom and sibling) became estranged when he goes to prison; “Luke Cage” season 2 could have that family reunion as a way of fleshing out Luke's backstory and character - and having a sister would certainly add a new character dynamic to the show.
As for Byron, Screenrant posits that he could be the show’s Season 2 villain, Bushmaster, and might compel Iron Fist to appear in the show:
“A high-ranking member of the Maggia in Europe, he comes to New York and confronts both Luke Cage and Iron Fist. He eventually even undergoes the same process Luke did to get similar powers.”
