“Lucifer Season 4” will be happening after its previous mother network decided to ax the show. Fans have been outraged that Fox opted to cancel the show, so they took it upon themselves to launch a social media campaign.
The movement got so much traction that Netflix eventually announced it’s going to pick up the show to the delight of its longtime followers. Now, fans are speculating what the trailer of “Lucifer” Season 4 will focus on.
Cartermatt said that the sneak peek should give fans a glimpse of Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Chloe (Lauren German) since the previous season ended up with her finding out about Lucifer’s Devil Face. Of course, the trailer shouldn’t fully reveal what happens next but simply provide additional insight as what to expect.
Also, fans of the show will surely be delighted if Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) will make an appearance in the trailer for “Lucifer” Season 4. Amenadiel, Lucifer’s older brother has been tasked by God to send the lord of hell back to his domain. So far, however, the angel has yet to accomplish his mission.
Aside from Woodside and Ellis, Kevin Alejandro, who plays Chloe’s ex-husband Dan Espinoza, will likely be returning. Tricia Helfer as Charlotte, Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez, Tom Welling as Marcus Pierce, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, Scarlett Estevez as Trixie, and Rachael Harris as Linda Martin are also slated to reprise their respective roles.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Ellis said that he wants to go “darker” for “Lucifer” Season 4. As for when the show will be aired, information from Netflix is scarce at the moment.
In the past, the release dates of the show have been varied: season 1 premiered in January 2016, season 2 in September 2016, and season 3 in October 2017. And with the fantasy/police procedural now having a new home, all signs are pointing to the release of "Lucifer" season 4 sometime in 2019.
