“Lucifer” season 4 was canceled by FOX Network in May last year. The news devastated the fans so they immediately launched a campaign to save the show. The #SaveLucifer trended on social media and that was definitely an indication that many people had supported the call for the series to be revived.
“Lucifer” season 4 lead star, Tom Ellis (Lucifer Morningstar), also expressed his utter disappointment while confirming to the fans that their drama was not renewed for another run after the season 3 finale. Via social media, the actor affirmed the cancellation with a heavy heart and added the hashtag #gutted on his post.
“It has been the most amazing experience over the past 3 years playing Lucifer and falling in love with you, the fans. It fills me with great sadness to confirm the rumours that some of you have been asking,” Ellis wrote. “Fox has indeed cancelled #lucifer I’m so sorry guys.”
Then again, in June 2018, it was announced that Netflix had picked up the show and the production of “Lucifer” season 4 immediately followed. The cast thanked their fans for their support and big role on the revival of the program.
The filming of “Lucifer” season 4 finally ended in December 2018 however, Netflix has yet to announce when it will premiere. While it has only been a little over a month since the filming concluded, fans are getting impatient already because they want the new episodes to come sooner so that the cliffhanger in season 3’s ending will finally be answered.
Likewise, there is no official word about “Lucifer” season 4’s release date yet but Aimee Garcia who plays Ella Lopez seems to have dropped a hint with regards to the show’s premiere. Last week, the actress shared that she is excited for the fourth installment of Lucifer and one fan directly asked her when it is coming.
Aimee Garcia replied that she is not sure but suggest that “Lucifer” season 4 could be arriving in three or four months. “I have no idea but if I had to guess I’d say April or May,” she wrote on Twitter.
