Thanks to Netflix, executive producers Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich were able to execute their plans for “Lucifer” season 4. It can be recalled that they previously confirmed someone from Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) past will be making an appearance if the show gets renewed. Now fans are suggesting that that “someone” could be his father a.k.a. God.

Shortly after Fox axed the show in May 2018, the EPs revealed in an interview with Deadline that they already had plans for “Lucifer” season 4. “We also had an exciting character from Lucifer’s past who was going to come in and mix everything up. A very personal, intimate figure who we won’t reveal the identity of yet… until we find out if we get the chance to tell the tale on a new network,” Modrovich said at the time.

The following month from the said interview, the #SaveLucifer online campaign became successful and several plot details have been confirmed since. It is highly possible that the EPs were referring to Eve, who will be played by Inbar Lavi. The arrival of Eve was confirmed as early as September 2018 along with the unveiling of the actor’s name to play the so-called original sinner.

In Biblical references, fans may recall that Eve was the first one to consume the forbidden fruit — upon the devil’s encouragement — and convinced Adam to do the same. As a result, they were both kicked out of the Garden of Eden and became the representation of marital struggles. In “Lucifer” season 4, Eve has had enough of her very predictable life with Adam, so she goes on a quest to find Lucifer.

On the other hand, it is also possible that “Lucifer” season 4 would introduce another character that’s familiar to the titular protagonist. Fans on Reddit speculate that God himself might have an appearance in the upcoming episodes. Considering that God, or at least his voice (by Neil Gaiman), was already included in the season 3 finale it would not be too far-fetched to see the Almighty pay the fallen angel an actual visit.

Netflix has yet to announce the specific release date for “Lucifer” season 4. But it is certainly scheduled to arrive sometime in 2019.
