“Lost in Space” season 2 is now in production and this comes after Netflix confirmed it ordered new episodes last year. The show proved its popularity when the streaming site suddenly announced its renewal, just a day following the first season’s premiere in April 2018.
When “Lost in Space” season 2 returns, the viewers will see the Robinsons family faced with bigger challenges. They have to stick closer than ever because they will find themselves in some alien world that is completely unfamiliar to them.
The previous season showed the family being transported to an unknown destination after their Jupiter 2 ship drifted away from the route that they were originally traversing through. Likewise, as mentioned on Digital Spy, the Robinsons family will really lose their way in “Lost in Space” season 2 as their spacecraft went off-course and they are now heading to a destination that can either be friendly or dangerous for the Robinsons.
Moreover, it was predicted that the family will be forced to fight in a battle against the machines because that is the only way to survive in the new world. And, as the family tries to reconnect to Resolute to get back to where they came from, perhaps, they will also meet some good robots that will take their side and provide assistance in “Lost in Space” season 2.
“Lost in Space” season 2 will still feature the original cast of the Robinsons family that includes Molly Parker (Maureen ), Toby Stephens (John), Taylor Russell (Judy), Maxwell Jenkins (Will) and Mina Sundwall (Penny). Sibongile Mlambo has been upgraded to series regular status so there will be more screen time for her character as Angela.
“Lost in Space” season 2 filming began in September 2018 and Screen Rant noted that it already wrapped up in January. Apparently, the new season is now in the post-production stage so it is highly likely that Netflix will announce its premiere date very soon.
