‘Lethal Weapon’ season 1’s episode 18, titled “Commencement,” will follow Riggs as he makes a shocking discovery about Miranda’s death while Murtaugh is forced to choose between dedication to his work or loyalty to his family.
The brief synopsis for episode 18 posted on TV Guide reads, “In the Season 1 finale, Riggs (Clayne Crawford) makes an unsettling discovery about Miranda's (Floriana Lima) death; and Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) is torn between his partner and family.”
It seems that Riggs is about to learn something shocking about his late wife’s death and this will lead him back to the cartel in his desperate search for answers. According to Christian Post, Riggs will discover that Miranda’s death may not have been an accident after all.
Murtaugh, who has been struggling with work-life balance of his own, will have to choose between dedication to his career and partner Riggs and commitment to his wife and family. In the promo, Murtaugh is seen frantically trying to stop Riggs from risking his life but the latter refuses to listen.
The series is an adaptation of the films of the same name created by Shane Black that starred Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, as Riggs and Murtaugh respectively. According to Variety, season 2 was given an early renewal for 22 episodes on Fox last February.
Fox Broadcasting entertainment president David Madden announced, “‘Lethal Weapon’ continues to fire on all cylinders… Every week, it delivers a big, fun rollercoaster ride, but also remains touchingly human and genuinely emotional, and that’s due to the chemistry that’s developed not only between Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford, but the entire cast.”
Madden continued, “We want to thank our producing partners, Warner Bros., as well as Matt Miller, McG, Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz, who have done a fantastic job in crafting a series for which a second-season order is well deserved.”
‘Lethal Weapon’ season 1’s episode 18, titled “Commencement,” is scheduled to air on Fox on March 15, 2017. It is expected to be the final episode of the buddy cop-action and comedy-drama television series’ first season.
