Lazada Group has joined forces with the Seoul Business Agency (SBA) to facilitate the expansion of South Korean SMEs into the thriving Southeast Asian market. Commencing with Singapore, this partnership aims to create new horizons for ambitious Seoul-based businesses.

The collaborative effort between Lazada and SBA seeks to empower South Korean SMEs, enabling them to leverage Lazada's cutting-edge technology, tools, and solutions for sustainable growth in Southeast Asian digital shopping. This strategic alliance will not only enrich the product range but also provide additional brand options for the vast customer base of Lazada, according to Inside Retail.
As per PR Newswire, the MoU was officially signed at Lazada's offices, Lazada One, in Singapore. Jason Chen, Chief Business Officer of Lazada Group, and Hyunwoo Kim, CEO of Seoul Business Agency, represented their organizations on this momentous occasion. Notably, this marked CEO Kim's first visit to Singapore, underscoring the significance of this partnership for both companies.
Seoul Business Agency's Commitment to Innovation, Economic Growth
Under the agreement, the Seoul Business Agency will spearhead efforts to promote Lazada as the key eCommerce marketplace for SMEs in Seoul. The collaboration will initially focus on Singapore, where SBA and Lazada will collaborate to onboard and incubate selected new cross-border sellers from Seoul onto the Lazada Singapore platform.
Hyunwoo Kim, Chief Executive Officer of Seoul Business Agency, emphasized their dedication to promoting innovation and economic growth for Seoul's SMEs. He highlighted the value of partnering with Lazada, allowing South Korean SMEs to access the vast customer base in Southeast Asia through this collaboration.
